Introducing World Religions PDF Print E-mail
Written by Wholeness House Staff

All three of these religions focus on human efforts to reach God or a desired eternal state. In contrast, the Bible teaches that God reached out to us by sending Jesus to die for our sins. Remember that, in many cases, making a commitment to Christ can lead to physical harm, rejection by one's family and other trials. When you offer them the truth be prepared to come along side them in friendship as well.

What Is the Gospel? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Roy Gustafson

Just before I left for one of my preaching assignments in Africa, a neighbor scornfully raised the question, "Why are you going to Africa with your religion? They have their own religions, so why trouble them with yours?" He was quite surprised when I assured him that we do not go anywhere to preach "religion."

Our message is the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I would not walk across the street-much less cross the oceans-to interest anyone in religion; but I am ready and willing to go anywhere in the world to preach the Gospel of the Son of God.

Through the centuries there have been hundreds of thousands who have shared the dedication of Paul, the chief of the apostles: "None of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God" (Acts 20:24). There are thousands of religions, but there is only one Gospel.

Paul said, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16).

The Gospel is the power of God that takes a thief and makes him or her an honest person. The Gospel is the power of God that changes a murderer into a person whose heart is filled with love. The Gospel is the power of God that takes a fallen man or woman, lifts that individual up, and makes him or her as pure as an angel. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God that can change you!

THE JOY OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH PDF Print E-mail
Written by CHARLES SPURGEON

"Brothers and sisters, there remains a singular and refined joy which comes of a humble perception of personal growth.  When you find that you do not lose your temper under provocation, as you did a year ago, you are humbly thankful.  When an evil lust is driven away and no longer haunts you, you are quietly joyful, rejoicing with trembling.  When you have sustained a trial which once would have crushed you, the victory is exceedingly sweet.  Every advance in holiness is an advance in secret happiness.  To be a little more "fit" for heaven is to have a little more of heaven in the heart."

Listen for His Voice PDF Print E-mail

Let me state something important.  There is never a time during which Jesus is not speaking.  Never.  There is never a place in which Jesus is not present.  Never.  There is never a room so dark...a lounge so sensual...an office so sophistocated...that the ever-present,  ever pursuing, relentlessly tender Friend is not there, tapping gently on the doors of our hearts--waiting to be invited in.  Few hear His voice.  Fewer still open the door.  But never interperet our numbness as His absence.  For amidst the fleeting promises of pleasure is the timeless promise of His presence.  "Surely I am with you alwayse, to the end of the age" (Matt. 28:20 NIV)  ...  There is no chorus so loud that the voice of God cannot be heard...if we will but listen.

STATEMENT OF FAITH PDF Print E-mail
Written by Wholeness House Staff
Wednesday, 14 June 2006
Wholeness House bases its ministry on the following statement of faith:

*       We believe in one God, Creator and Lord of the Universe, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6

*       We believe that the Bible is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.   II   Timothy 3:15-17

*       We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.  John 1:1-4; Matthew 1:23; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 & 4:15;  Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; I Corinthians 15:3-4

*       We believe that all people are lost sinners and cannot see the Kingdom of God except through the new birth.  Justification is by grace through faith in Christ alone.            Titus 3:4-7; Luke 24:46-47; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Acts 4:12

*       We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life, and for the Church's constant renewal in truth, faith, power, holiness, wisdom, love and mission.  Galatians 5: 16-18; Romans 8:9

*       We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment.  Revelation 20:11-15;  I Corinthians 15:51-57

*       We believe that Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return in glory to raise the dead and bring salvation and judgment to completion.  God will fully manifest His Kingdom when He establishes a new heaven and a new earth, in which He will be glorified forever and will exclude all evil, suffering, and death.  Revelation 21:1-2

*       We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church.  Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:12,27

*       We believe that the ministry of evangelism is a responsibility is a responsibility of both the church and each individual Christian.  Romans 10:9-15; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18-20; I Peter 3:15

We believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic Church.  Its call is to worship God and witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, preach the Gospel among all nations and demonstrate its commitment by compassionate service to the needs of human beings, promoting righteousness, justice and the Word of God.

His Command is simple ....  Stay in His Word, Pray and Obey...
